Even today, people all across the Southwest, and especially in the Desert, do not have proper broadband Internet access.

The stark reality is that no one is incentivized to build fiber infrastructure when it is not profitable to do so.

It costs over $100,000 per mile to run Internet cable aerially, and even more to run cable underground.
